What is Rarefind?
Rarefind is an online platform which attempts to connect the artistically inclined buyer with manufacturers of artistic products. Our endeavour is to see independent artists and artisans grow and develop successful businesses, retailing their exceptional and unique products to all of India and the world.
Are all Rarefind products handmade?
All our products try to connect the contemporary shopper back to humanity. Upcycle, the first brand to participate on Rarefind, is 100% handmade and 100% recycled. These are quirky and unique designs, which create a sense of surprise and joy. Other brands participating may or may not be completely handmade or recycled, but they would never be machine-made mass replicas of me too products either.
Why are recycled products cool?
There was a time when manufacturing of products was driven by genuine customer need. Unfortunately, most of the products manufactured today, such as mobile phones, electronic appliances and automobiles, are merely cosmetic upgrades of their earlier avatars. Manufacturing is being led by forced changes of consumer taste or regulation, and the old is getting obsolete. Often, the discarded includes quality scrap generated by marine industry, sports & entertainment, households as well as change of economic laws. Upcycle as a brand tries to retain what it can, and with minimum carbon footprint, recycle and upscale this into unrecognizable pieces of utility and art.
What should I check while shopping?
Please refer to our Terms & Conditions page carefully, before you shop. If you are outside Mumbai, not all your products are eligible for free delivery, returns or cash on delivery. In case of confusion, please call before you place an order and make payment.
How will I know if you have received my order?
During the payment process you will be given a confirmation that your credit card has been successfully processed. You will also be given an order confirmation number through an email from Team Rarefind.
Is it safe to use credit card on rarefind.in?
We do not store credit card information on our website. Your credit card information is completely safe with our payment solution providers.
What if an item is out of stock?
Most of the products available on Rarefind are limited edition designs, and we encourage you to buy them immediately upon liking them. The nature of recycled products is such that, it may or may not be available after some time. In case, you place an order for an item which is still on display but not in stock, we will inform you telephonically or via email within 2-3 working days. We will also refund your payment in full or give you equal store credit, whichever is preferred.
How will I be charged for shipping?
All Rarefind orders are currently shipped from Mumbai. For smaller sized products such as table lamps and wall clocks, there is no additional shipping fee for delivery within India. For large sized and heavier products such as chairs, tables and other items of furniture, there will be an additional shipping charge outside Mumbai, based on the volume, weight and exact delivery address. To make your shopping experience hassle-free, we request you to call us before booking a product, know the exact tax amount and delivery charges, then complete your payment.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Orders received are usually processed within 3-6 hours. Items such as wall clocks or table lamps are ready to leave our factory within 2-3 days for delivery. Larger sized items such as chairs, coffee tables and other items of furniture take longer to process. Once ready, our designated courier and transporters usually take another 3-10 days to deliver, depending on the delivery address and the exact nature of the product. Team Rarefind usually keeps the customer updated about the status of the order.
What happens if I receive a damaged or wrong product?
It must be remembered that ‘Upcycle’ products are 100% handmade and 100% recycled. Minor variations in colour or inconsistency, is only natural and must not be construed as a defect. At Rarefind, we along with our affiliates, check all products repeatedly before they are dispatched. However, in the unlikely event a product gets damaged in transit, or leaves our factory less than perfect, or a mismatched product reaches you, we will be happy to replace it immediately. Please click a photo or video of the damaged or mismatched product received, and email or whatsapp us immediately (within 3 hours of delivery). Once this process is complete and your request for return has been approved, we will arrange for a quick pick up and replacement.
What happens if I receive a product with minor damages in transit?
All Upcycle products use natural, but high quality paper and cardboard based packaging. We make it a point to avoid usage of plastics, thermocol or any other non-biodegradable material. This makes our task tougher, and sometimes accompanying light bulbs may develop hairline cracks or clock hands may get loosened, while shipments get transferred. If this happens, you can return us the product and we will be happy to send you a replacement. However, if you wish to add no further carbon footprint and get it resolved locally, we will be happy to help you from Mumbai. We can identify a local watch repairer to tighten the clock hands or help source a similar tungsten filament LED bulb from your city. This allows you to participate directly in the upcycling process, and become an extension of what we are doing from another different city.
When is a package undelivered?
These days, the courier company representative usually calls up the recipient, co-ordinates on address and exact time time etc. They should usually attempt delivery of the same order, thrice. However, deliveries can still be unsuccessful if the address provided is incorrect or incomplete, the recipient does not answer the phone to aid co-ordination with courier, or if the product is being sent as a gift to someone who is unaware and not available to take delivery. In neither case, Rarefind will issue a refund.
If any duties or taxes are due, then the shipping company will require payment at the time of delivery. If you are generally not home during delivery hours, please use a shipping address where someone will be available to sign for the package.
Can I email my order?
Ordering a Rarefind product should be easy. You can telephone or email us your order. Please write to support@rarefind.in
How can I modify my order?
You can modify your order at any time during the shopping process by editing/ modifying your shopping cart. Once you confirm payment for the items in your shopping cart, the order is considered as final and cannot be modified.
How do I cancel an order?
Because we process orders immediately, it’s difficult to cancel orders once placed. However, in case you change your mind after placing an order, please try to cancel within 6 hours of placing the order. There is no guarantee that your order will be cancelled, but we will try.
What is the Rarefind Return Policy?
At Rarefind, we don’t have a return policy. If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you can call up to check for alternative products. However, returns, if at all possible, must be made with the customer having to bear the shipping charges. There will be no refund on returns.
Can I use an Upcycle product for gifting?
Upcycle products come packed in lovely cartons and is ideal for gifting. The packaging uses no thermocol or other non-biodegradable material. The packaging bears cool graphics on the outside and needs no separate wrapping paper. It is easy to carry to a wedding or a friend’s party. In fact, Upcycle products make the most ideal and memorable gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, housewarming parties and shaadis.
